Cefalù

Cefalù is a picturesque seaside town located at the foot of a tall and imposing cliff. Full of narrow streets to explore, it glories in its ancient cathedral, one of the most beautiful churches of the Norman period. The cathedral is home to one of the four representations of Christ Pantocrator: mosaics of the Byzantine school with depictions of Jesus that are characteristic of the Arabic-Norman churches in Sicily. In Sicily, the other three are: the Palatine Chapel in Palermo, the Cathedral of Monreale and the Cathedral of Messina.

The Scala dei Turchi

The Scala dei Turchi is a stretch of coastline near Realmonte (not far from Agrigento). It is made of white marl and features natural sloping steps eroded by the wind that descend to the level of the sea. The reflections of sunlight and the sea create evocative colours that render the landscape unique: golden yellow at sunrise, blue during the day, bright red at sunset.

The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento

The Valley of the Temples is the most famous archaeological site in the world due to the exceptional state of preservation of important Doric temples of the Hellenistic period. The Valley of the Temples is the site of the ancient city of Akragas, the monumental original settlement of the city of Agrigento. Since 1997, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the day, it is a great archaeological site where you can visit, among others, the Tomb of Theron, the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Concordia, the Temple of Castor and Pollux and, of course, the incredible Archaeological Museum.

During the evening, the Valley is enchantingly illuminated to guarantee unforgettable moonlight strolls.

The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento can be reached by car or train from Villa Dafne. The trip takes about an hour (68 km) along the Palermo-Agrigento expressway.

Busambra and Sikani mountains

Rocca Busambra

Rocca Busambra stands 1613 metres tall and is the highest peak in the Sicani Mountains, as well as the highest peak in western Sicily.

It is located near the town of Godrano in the province of Palermo. This genuine bastion of solid rock emerges from the green hills of the Ficuzza forest. It is extremely rugged in appearance, especially on the northern side, with vertical walls and sheer drops of impressive height. The southern slope descends more gradually. The peak offers an extensive view overlooking the valley and the surrounding area, allowing visitors to appreciate a vast portion of Sicily.
