Educational tours, the agricultural essence of Sicily, methods of biological breeding: come visit our farm

Villa Dafne offers its guests the opportunity to visit the farm by following a trail that helps them “learn by doing.” Adults and children can participate in agricultural tasks and acquire first-hand knowledge in the field.

The tours and paths are designed to spread knowledge about organic farming and raising livestock and aim to encourage the recovery of fundamental values that are in danger of being lost.

The visits at the Farm are performed every Sunday * at 10:00 and are free for all guests.

Pool

Relax totally in our swimming pool surrounded by the green Sicilian countryside illuminated with Mediterranean sunshine.

In warm weather, Villa Dafne offers its guests a large outdoor pool: the pool covers an area of about 200 square metres, with a depth varying from 1.6 to 2.8 metres; it is connected to a children’s pool that is no more than 80 cm deep. It’s the ideal solution for the enjoyment of the whole family.

The outdoor pool and the sun deck surrounded by the green gardens of Villa Dafne let you relax and enjoy the Sicilian sun far from the bustle of cities and crowded beaches.

The pools are open from May to October. The pools are for the exclusive use of the hotel guests.

The "siccagno" tomato sauce

Come discover the Siccagno Tomato, typical product of the Sicilian hinterland, a treasure chest of Mediterranean flavours.

The tomato is one of the staples of the Mediterranean diet: it is well known for its healing properties and is widely accepted as an enemy of old age and of free radicals in our system.

It is a fundamentally important food that is low in calories and high in lycopene, a precious antioxidant, essential for a healthy life. At Villa Dafne, the Azienda Agricola Mascarella cultivates only the Siccagno tomato: it originates in the heart of Sicily, in the territory of Alia and Valledolmo, and was once used only for home consumption. The Siccagno tomato is a spring and summer crop: the plants spend the first part of their growing period in the nursery, and are then transplanted in the field and placed under a non-irrigated regime. It is this aspect that gave rise to the name “Siccagno.”
