Piazza Armerina has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997 thanks to the Villa Romana del Casale.

Piazza Armerina is located in the province of Enna in central Sicily, almost 700 metres above sea level, ensconced between large dense forests of eucalyptus trees.

Piazza Armerina is one of the most sought after and best loved Sicilian tourist destinations and it is famous for its archaeological and cultural attractions. Each year, approximately 800,000 visitors from all over the world visit the Villa Romana del Casale, a World Heritage Site and one the most visited Roman art sites in the world.

Piazza Armerina can be reached by car from Villa Dafne in about an hour and a half (117 km) by taking SS21, then A19 towards Enna and then SS11-bis, following the signs for Piazza Armerina.
